The Lynx Lake Canoe Trail is a scenic, beginner-friendly canoe route located within Nancy Lake State Recreation Area. The trail connects multiple lakes using short portages and is ideal for day trips, wildlife viewing, and fishing. This is a self-guided experience—there are no guides on the water.

Tippecanoe operates seasonally from May 21 to September 8, depending on weather conditions.

Licenses can be purchased through the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. • Safety Considerations: • If you're unfamiliar with the area or the equipment, consider reviewing safety guidelines or reaching out to Tippecanoe staff for advice. • Arrive at the Designated Location: • On the day of your adventure, meet the Tippecanoe team at their paddle shack located within the South Rolly Campground.​ • The address is Mile 6.5 Nancy Lake Parkway, Willow, AK 99688 • Equipment Pickup and Orientation: • Visit our building inside South Rolly Campground • Upon arrival, the Tippecanoe staff will provide you with the keys, paddle, and lifejackets and offer a brief orientation to ensure you're comfortable and informed about your gear and the area.​ • Enjoy Your Adventure: • Head out to your chosen destination. • With everything in place, embark on your chosen activity—be it canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, or fishing—and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Nancy Lake State Recreation Area.​ • Post-Adventure Procedures: • After your excursion, return the equipment to the same location unless otherwise instructed.​ • If you have any feedback or need assistance, don't hesitate to contact the Tippecanoe team.

Walk-ups are welcome when we’re open at South Rolly Campground, but reservations are the only way to guarantee availability.
